Reliable Channel LLC

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of JoltSMS — our marketing site (joltsms.com), our user dashboard (app.joltsms.com), our developer REST API, our Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, and all integrations (Slack, Discord, Telegram, email, webhooks) (collectively, the “Services”).

The Services are operated by Reliable Channel LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a Texas limited liability company.

BY REGISTERING AN ACCOUNT, ACCESSING THE SERVICES, OR PURCHASING A SUBSCRIPTION, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT USE THE SERVICES.

These Terms incorporate our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, Refund Policy, and Cookie Policy by reference.


🔍1. Definitions

  • Account: Your registered profile.
  • Dedicated Number: A non-VoIP, real-SIM U.S. phone number leased to your Account for the duration of your paid subscription.
  • Inbound SMS: SMS messages received by your Dedicated Number.
  • Destination: A delivery endpoint you configure (dashboard inbox, webhook URL, Slack, Discord, Telegram, email).
  • Subscription: Your monthly ($50/mo) or annual ($500/yr) plan.

🤖2. Account Security & Developer Access

Your Account

You’re responsible for keeping your password safe and reporting any unauthorized access. We authenticate sessions via a joltsms_session cookie (see our Cookie Policy for details).

API Keys and AI Agents

We issue jolt_sk_* API keys and distribute an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server so developers and AI agents can provision numbers and read inbound SMS programmatically.

When you use API keys or the MCP server, you agree:

  1. You are responsible for any automation, script, or AI agent you configure against our API.
  2. Once a message or OTP code leaves our infrastructure and reaches your environment, you control what happens to it.
  3. We are not liable for leaked API keys, prompt injection attacks against your AI agents, logging exposures, or any downstream use of data your code receives from us.

👥3. Team Workspaces

You can invite other people to a number’s workspace as an OWNER, MANAGER, or VIEWER. Invitations expire after 7 days if not accepted. Invited members can view incoming SMS messages and metadata for the numbers they have access to.

By using team features, you confirm that:

  1. Everyone you invite has agreed to view incoming SMS data and related metadata.
  2. You are liable for what your invited team members do — including credential leaks, misuse of OTP codes, or account takeover attempts.

🚫4. What the Service Does and Doesn’t Do

Inbound SMS only

JoltSMS receives incoming SMS messages. We do not support outbound SMS, MMS, or A2P broadcasting. You waive any claim against us for not being able to send messages.

🚨 No voice. No 911.

Our numbers cannot make calls or receive emergency-services traffic. Do not use JoltSMS for 911, dispatch, or any emergency communication.

Third-party platforms decide what they accept

We sell numbers that receive SMS. We don’t control whether any specific third-party service (social network, marketplace, bank, etc.) accepts your number. We don’t guarantee that any number will pass any specific platform’s anti-fraud checks — even if a similar number passed previously.


🔒5. Dedicated Numbers, Porting, and Reclamation

  • License, not ownership. Numbers are leased to you under a limited, revocable license. You do not own a number.
  • No porting out. You cannot port, transfer, or migrate a JoltSMS number to another provider, app, or carrier.
  • Carrier reclamation. Numbers are conditional on your subscription being active and the carrier continuing to supply that number. If your subscription lapses or the carrier reclaims a number, you lose access to it.

📈6. Fees and Billing

  • Pricing. $50/month or $500/year per number. Optional premium area code: $3.50/month or $35/year.
  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel. We charge in advance of each renewal so that failed payments can be retried before your number expires at the carrier.
  • Cancellation and refund timing is governed by our Refund Policy.
  • Annual plans are non-refundable from the moment of checkout.
  • Monthly → annual upgrades are prorated and charged immediately. Once upgraded, you’re on a 365-day cycle and the upgrade is non-refundable.
  • Unavailable area codes. If you pay for a premium area code and we can’t supply one, we automatically refund the addon as a Stripe Credit Note. The base subscription stays active.

❄️7. Acceptable Use, Fraud, and Account Freezes

Acceptable Use

You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. If you violate it — automated abuse, spam routing, mass account creation, rate-limit evasion, credential stuffing — we terminate your access. You forfeit any remaining subscription time and any right to a refund.

Chargebacks and Bank Disputes

If you file a chargeback or bank dispute instead of contacting us:

  • Your account is marked as frozen.
  • Your active sessions are revoked.
  • Your numbers are suspended.
  • Our background systems are blocked from restoring access while the dispute is open.

If the carrier releases your number during the dispute window, we are not liable for the loss.

[email protected] is faster than a chargeback — and unlike a chargeback, it doesn’t freeze your account.


🛡️8. Automated Content Filtering

We automatically scan inbound SMS for messages that contain internal vendor or carrier tracking markers (such as test traffic from our suppliers). Those messages are flagged as vendor traffic, hidden from your dashboard, hidden from the REST API, and not delivered to your notification endpoints. They are retained only for internal compliance auditing.


9. Data Retention and Deletion

When you delete your account:

  • Immediately: your active sessions are revoked and your email address is anonymized.
  • After 30 days: the content of your inbound SMS messages is permanently overwritten with [REDACTED].
  • Stripe invoices and tax records remain in Stripe’s system to meet financial-record-keeping requirements, separately from the 30-day cycle.

⚠️10. Disclaimer of Warranties and Liability Cap

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS-IS” AND “AS-AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RELIABLE CHANNEL LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT INBOUND SMS WILL ARRIVE WITHOUT DELAY, OR THAT ANY NUMBER WILL BE ACCEPTED BY ANY THIRD-PARTY PLATFORM.

Liability Cap

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL RELIABLE CHANNEL LLC BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE LESSER OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.


🏛️11. Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

  • Binding individual arbitration. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved by binding individual arbitration in Tarrant County, Texas, under the Federal Arbitration Act.

⚠️ Class Action Waiver

YOU AND RELIABLE CHANNEL LLC AGREE THAT DISPUTES WILL BE BROUGHT ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF, REPRESENTATIVE, OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR GROUP LEGAL ACTION.

  • Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Services or in applicable law. Material updates will be posted to this page and announced in-app on your /alerts page.
